The Myriad
The Myriad (also known as "The Many") is an organized crime syndicate originating from Wildemount.
The Myriad began as a small shipping company in Yrrosa, a city in the Dwendalian Empire. Originally selling exotic goods and services, over time it became more profitable to exploit illegal curiosities from the region of Othanzia and the city of Ank'Harel. They shifted their headquarters years after to just outside of Yios. Through years of establishing their underworld contacts and employing tactical blackmail, the Myriad evolved from illegal smuggling to a powerful and well-veiled criminal faction. The Myriad is one of very few factions that actively engages in the practice of slavery.
The Myriad has begun spreading into eastern Tal'Dorei, and western Marquet. Much as they do in Wildemount, the Marquesian Myriad keeps mainly to coastal cities and towns, or larger cities (such as Yios). This has led to a rivalry with many other native crime syndicates, one knows in Tal'dorei with the Clasp, and one can speculate in Marquet with other smaller organizations all trying to find footing. Although since the Echoes Crisis, the Myriad has found its efforts heavily hindered by the rise of the Songsteel Trading Company that works to actively undo the Myriad’s work.
