WorldEmber Prep

For this challenge, I will be writing at least 10,000 words focused on expanding the magic systems, items, factions, traditions, and history of a particular group of individuals. This will also build upon the world I started during the NovelEmber project, taking it to new depths of detail and creativity. During Summer Camp, I dove into this world without a clear sense of direction. Now, just a few months later, I have a clear vision—and I’m chasing it with renewed energy. In the coming weeks, I’ll be revamping the presentation of my worldbuilding: restructuring the layout, updating fonts, and rethinking how information is displayed. My goal is to make the project more engaging and easier to read, allowing readers to better understand and connect with the world I’m creating. The first step in this process is creating an introduction article, something I’ve surprisingly overlooked until now.   For inspiration, I’ve been drawn to the Game of Thrones series. As someone who isn’t typically a TV enthusiast and often dreads sitting through a show, I found myself intrigued by the complexity of its characters, systems, and overarching themes. This sparked an idea: if I could capture even a fraction of that rich, interconnected world in my writing, it could transform my project. So, I’ve started watching the series to see where it leads me creatively. Stay tuned—this journey is just getting started.   I have decided to start an Instagram account (TheBookwormMila) and I plan on sharing there my progress. If you have an ig account, let me know! I will follow!  I am also feeling overwhelmed about NovelEmber. I did not reach my goal of 50k words, but I did write 20k. It is my first year doing this and my first time trying to write a whole store tying all of my worldbuilding together. It is progress I would guess... For WorldEmber, I plan on working mostly on the weekends. With festivities and my birthday all in one month, I am not sure how much time and mental capacity I will have, but I am giving it a try!
