Akichi of Blossoms
"A glade like no other, to sit under the blossoms and allow
their leaves to fall around, to breathe in their scent is to
experience the divine touching your soul. Are they gods
rooted to this world? Are they truly the souls of warriors old?
Or something else? - Extract from the diary of Gakusha Hon.."
The five blossom trees are the souls of the last five Gādian, powerful guardians that gave their everything to ensure the lasting protection of the Vae Dynasty. The land was war torn and the Vae were losing. The Gādian were formed, skilled folk that could be utilised in special circumstances. Sent into the deepest parts of the battles to take down the most powerful of fiends. The battles were violent and when the last five remained there was still no victory in sight and so they gave their souls over to Vae to make sure future guardians would be able to take their knowledge and power and keep the hope of victory going. The Akichi of Blossoms is a site of raw untamed magic. It is the source of all arcane on Colossus. The trees were planted, each of the last five Gādian cared for their own knowing they were to be forever tied to it. When the trees were grown it was time. The Gādian said their goodbyes to friends and loved ones and stepped from this world into another. Their souls become one with the blossoms, their roots reached deep into different planes and realms, into the life energies of the world, colorful blossoms gave power to those who swore a similar sacrifice. Everyone of Vae is born neutral, no matter their heritage when they come of age they must choose a Gādian blossom to swear to. Their souls are then forever tied.
Shiroi Shi, The Apple Blossom Blossom Colour White Clans Theme Death Shiroi was Goliath and a skilled scholar of death. The funeral rites one must perform to cleanse the soul before it moves on are delicate and intricate, thus must be studied deeply. They helped the healers learn of death in a way that expanded their talents. It wasn’t enough to just know how basic healing but to improve on that ability. Shiroi had another talent, linked to death, known as Walking in Shadows. Not in a way that takes years of practice hiding from their siblings whilst playing, but one of supernatural ability. Shiroi literally walked in shadow, forever able to be only in a targets periphery. With this ability, Shiroi was an assassin of unrivaled talent. Those of the Apple Blossom take one of three paths. The learned ways of death and funeral rites, the blessings and prayers needed for a soul to be at peace, and safe from being returned via means not welcome. Physical skill, raw dexterity and sheer luck, valuable traits that they work hard to master the raw talent of taking a life, using the tools they craft and implement with perfect accuracy. The third is to step into a world only they can see, a world the shadows wrap in a mist of hidden opportunities.
Awai Aka, The Cherry Blossom Blossom Colour Pinks & Reds Clans Theme Fiend Hunters Awai Aka, an Elf, embraced the fury and violence of the Fiends they swore to destroy leading to a form of martial prowess flowing through them. First into the fray, swinging weapons with fury fueled by the fires of hatred for the Fiends . Those of the Fiendish realms are quick and mighty in both their intellect, strength, and cruelty. These traits often are paired with a silver tongue and this resulted in many taking a side with the Fiends. Promises of great power and glory cause weak willed minds to fight against the Vae and this betrayal fanned Awai's anger. They laid waste to the betrayers and Awai became feared as any other threat on either side of the war. Fiends avoided Awai and their weapons which quickly became tools of legend. Experiments were, and are still, done on Fiends. If a devil or a demon is the subject that leads to new knowledge that can be used to fight then, then all means are allowed and encouraged by the Cherry Blossom clans. Burn bright and die gloriously is a mantra often heard within the clans of the Cherry Blossom. Facing Fiends as often possibly can leave scars that never really heal and they have a reckless charge within their tactics. Get in, deal as much damage as possible, your skill will determine if you survive to fight more and fate will always agree if you are worthy. Stand in front of a demon. Read them, move like them. Be faster, deadlier, and win. Protect your kin and let not their fiery presence and acidic attacks become deadly to your allies. Absorb the arcane in any form you can and utilise it to slay your enemy. Some become Embracers. To swear to walk this path grants one both ultimate respect and hatred from the rest of Vae. Using the very thing you are set to destroy as a weapon against itself, taking in the blood of Fiends, merging with their essence. This gives the ability to morph, grow, change, alter parts of themselves to be demonic in nature to then be turned on the enemy. Others become Knowledge Retrievers, skilled folk who can mingle with the rest of the lands. They infiltrate where needed, get what they are looking for, and leave unnoticed. This is a fine art and one those on this path use well across the world seeking out information about Fiends. Those that pursue this role will learn to enter through the rifts and stalk the Fiendish cities in their own realm, to spy on them and take that found knowledge back.
Yaban Hito, The Hawthorn Blossom Blossom Colour Green Clans Theme Barbarians When the merchants have traded for the right resources, when warriors have strategized best they can, assassins have stalked the shadows, and still the outcome is unknown then it was Yaban Hito, a Goliath, followed by their clans that are called upon. These warriors are able to call forth a primal rage and unleash it upon their enemies. Those of the Hawthorn take the largest weaponry and unleash their inner focus directed at the enemy. It is no surprise that many of those on this path never reach their true potential but not one of them has ever been taken from this life without leaving a severe dent in the forces that assail Vae. It is a simple way of life that allows two paths; that of the melee with the Kanabō and that of the ranged with the Sōdaiyuma, a bow unstringable by an average warrior. There is only one task at hand when those of Hawthorn take to the battlefield, aim for the most powerful enemy and hurt it, ruin it, wipe it from existence. If minor foe are before you, sweeping them aside is only because you need to clear a path towards your mark.
Torēdo, The Juneberry Blossom Blossom Colour Greys & Black Clans Theme Merchants Contact across the country was foremost to start the trading routes for the Dynasty. This would go on to expand outside of Vae. Being a giant, Torēdo could traverse the land much faster than most others and they had a charisma alien to others of his kind. Torēdo was sharp of mind, so much so they were responsible for designing the trade routes across Vae. It was Torēdo that made contact with the mighty dragonborn, creatures of Koran. A treaty written out by the giant agreed the dragonborn would aid in constant battles with the Fiends. Anything the Dynasty needed, those of Torēdo would go above and beyond to make the trade of acquiring it via other means. There are two distinct methods to these clans. Either via the means of being gifted with a tongue, those that can spin words of golden promise and silver desires. The other side of the coin would have those who would simply take what they needed from under the noses of folk that had it.
Being skilled with words is an art form that takes years of perfecting and the Juneberry Clans are the best place to learn the tricks of the trade. Manipulation is as deadly as a knife in the dark or as life saving as the touch of healing magics. However, when words don’t work, and the resource is still sought after, it is time to send in those who have mastered the talents of pad footing. Those who scaling buildings with nothing more than a will and silk scarf comes easy. These are no assassins, but their fingers will always find what they need silently and quickly.
Andeddo, Peach Blossom Blossom Colour Orange Clans Theme Undead Hunters Flight is a gift from powers way above that of the mortals. The very stars themselves have blessed the Tengu Aarakocra and Andeddo, as the first, soared high and shared everything seen with the rest of Vae. Their job was to locate, map out, to report, but things are never that simple and, before long, Andeddo was in the thick of the chaos. Andeddo found the first of the Ginketsu Mirrors. A wondrous item that allowed the creatures on the other side of the mirror into the material plane. These creatures were the first Vampires to take steps in Colossus. When Andeddo found the mirror and invited the Vampires across, they knew then they had been naive. These were not a gift from Strand, they were yet another device to give more magic and power to the world. Except in this case it came via the undead. The corruption of the soul occured in that moment. Andeddo gazed and allowed it free. This was a catalyst that brought about more of the necromantic rifts throughout Vae. The vampires led armies of undead against those of Vae. Andeddo was turned into a creature of the night and drinker of blood. The last of their soul was given to the blossom and forever bound to the Akichi of Blossoms. The opportunities available among the clans of the Peach are unique. Taking out undead is their prime goal, to claim redemption for Andeddo. It is a horrible path filled with death. These folk manipulate necromantic energies, disrupting the negative force that gives the undead existence, and other similar skills are taught. Typically, these teachings are learned in the field. There is an unspoken path that only a few take, and that is to embrace it fully and become that which you seek. The ritual of Sukunai takes enough of one's soul that they walk similar to as a vampire would.
