Cromatic Waters

It is said that when the chromatic storm hit the planet, and the sky became a rainbow of stars, the coloured dust that hit the atmosphere created a rain of colours that tinged the whole creation.   Some of that first shower collected deep in the heart of mountains and created springs of brilliant monochrome that, flowing in the natural depressions of the land, formed rivers, lakes and natural pools, harvested to this day for their delicious waters with "magical" properties.   There are many legends in every culture regarding these coloured waters.   Some cultures believe that the gods, after their effort in creating the world, are now busy in an eternal banquet and the coloured waters are what's dripping from their libation's cups.   These cultures believe that all sentient creatures are called to participate to the banquet through the consumption of these generous leftovers that the divinities are sharing, voluntarily or not.   Other cultures believe them to be various gods' body fluids, which might seem less appealing at first sight, but doesn't stop the believers from having at least some ritual tastes of them.   There are also several beliefs regarding the single types of waters, in particular those of primary colours.   Yellow waters are almost universally believed to increase the energy of sentient folks, some people believe that bathing a newborn in yellow water will give them vigour in the first few months of life.   Red water is believed to grant, on occasion, special powers.   A tribe of winged folks which lives on the slopes of the impervious mountain XXX, believe they are part of the body of the mountain itself and refuse to ever leave the area. They believe that the mountain and everything that lives in it is the body of a god that was wounded drunkenly falling from the sky and is now resting and recovering in the world, until he regains enough energy to fly back in and and participate of the divine banquet.   The mountain god is bleeding red water from one of his wounds and they believe that their ability to fly is a blessing granted by the mountain's god for the fact that they collect and consume its "blood" therefore keeping it in its body. If they leave the "body" of the mountain, they will maim the god and slow down his recovery, maybe even cause him to die of blood loss, and they will forever lose the chance of fly in the sky and have a taste of the god's banquet, as it's their birthright as part of the god's body.
