Coanda

In this world of winds and cloud, there exist islands floating in the sky atop massive gusts of wind shooting up from the surface. Each island is isolated and has its own habitat, as the wind gusts act as barriers from accessing the outside except from the exceptional flyers inhabiting the land.   The world of Coanda is adorned, from atmosphere, to dirt, to the individuals cells of each creature, with a strange material simply referred to as "Geim", which reacts to pressure increases by solidifying and becoming impenetrable, thus residents have long lost the fear of dying via impact and protection is generally unneeded.   Among the materials of the world, one such material aids in channeling the magic running through all the creatures in Coanda. It is called "Pasca", and it allows users to easily manipulate pressure around them, giving way to various magical abilities, ranging from winds, fire, water control, temperature manipulation, and much more.   The people have a legend, that of the surface of Coanda, that tells of a paradise inhabited by the most beautiful of creatures imaginable, but none have been able to come back from it. The commonly called "Curse of Descent" is an affliction which occurs by attempting to reach the surface too quickly, the atmospheric pressure changes and thrashing wind currents causing their bodies to solidify, causing lack of control, leading to organ solidifying, leading to death. The legend continues as a mystery except to those adventurous enough to try.
