Session 5 Report
General Summary
The session begins after the party recieved their weapon enchantments from Kaidin. After leaving the mages guild they went straight to the tavern. After a few drinks they wondered about the symbol they encountered on the dagger and quarterstaff. They asked around at the tavern but did not get many answers. Consequently they returned to the mages guild to find some more answers.
There they encounterd Kadin again who, after some hesitation, told them it is the sigil of Velsharoon, the demigod of necromancy. He explained that the symbols started apearing a while ago and Spinal Illusion have been encoutering them more and more ever since. The party inquired if there is anything they can do to help and after even more hesitation Kadin gave them a lead to explore a cave on the edge of the dwarven mountains.
Having received their next quest the party headed out towards the dwarven mountains. Having encounterd various attacks and ambushes on the road during their last quest they decided traveling by boat will be a nice change of pace. They headed towards the docks and got themselfs tickets for a boat ride to Tintagel from an old sea captain. After waiting 15 minutes for the boat to depard they noticed the captain coming down from his office and boarding their boat. He conned the boat and the party set sail towards Tintagel.
In the fifth room, opposite of the fourth room, a man was sleeping. Elovar successfully sneaked into his room and found a purse of coins. Surprisingly he left the purse alone and left the room. He skipped the next 3 rooms and headed updeck to the rest of the party. Realising there was another stairway leading down to the lower deck he went down again.
This time finding himseld in a long hallway with a door at the end. He walked up to the door and started listening to what went on behind the door. Listening to all the noises he concluded that it was the working area of the crew, he knocked on the door and asked if he can get something to eat. The steward responded by asking which room he was in, realising he didn't have a room Elovar went back upstairs and spoke with the ships captain about the rooms. The captain gave him 4 keys for rooms 1,2, 7 & 8. Elovar just realized he broke into his own room moments ago. The party, tired of Elovars dumbwittedness, went to their rooms and took a long rest.
Upon waking in the morning Malgath and Malachaia noticed they had a visitor in their rooms. Malachaia tried to sneak out the room, but upon opening the door the visitor noticed him and attacked him, Malachaia tried to fend it off, but with little to no succes. Malgath tried to suprise the visitor by attacking him, but also with little to no resolve.
Elovar heard the commotion in Malachaia's room and knocked on Kasnans room who was oblivious to what was hapening. They both went to help Malachaia, and with their combined attacks they managed to damage the visitor a little. Kasnan realised quickly that they were dealing with 2 shadow demons, concluding the demons can't handle light Elovar quickly went upstairs and alerted the captain. The rest of the party followed his example and quickly went upstairs into the morning light.
The captain didn't hesitate and went downstairs to deal with the shadow demons. Within no time he came back up and informed the party the problem was dealt with.
Impressed by the captain the party asked what he had done to the shadow demons, at which the captain responded: "I threw them through the walls into the light". Having seen the damage the shadow demons had endured by the party the captain was impressed and he inquired about the nature of their quest and offerd to help them in their search for the cave and the secrets that may lie in it.
After this encounter the session ended

The cave
The ship docked at Tintagel and after letting all the other passagers leave the ship the party, now joined by the captain, set sail for the dwarven mountains. They anchor at the southern end of the river and quickly find an cave entrance with a strairway leading down into what seems to be system of tunnels and caves. They first encouter a group of 4 goblins, feasting on a pile of bones, which they quickly dispose of. In the room they find a locked door, and after numerous attempts to open the door the party decides to try another way. In the next room they get ambushed by a goblin sorceror and 4 more goblins. The sorceror proves to be a more difficult challenge to the party, but with the help of the ship captain they kill the sorceror and the 4 goblins.After this encounter the session ended
