The Westfold War

Military: War

31/46/04 - 36/46/04

The Westfold War is fought, the forces of The Brazen Empire sucessfully assaulting the Waymarch in an attempt to secure access to The Mountains Glym.

Bolstered by western failures in the lands of Thenia, and intent removing the Empire's reliance upon the member-nations to form an army, Emperess-Elect Auralis put together an ambitious plan to seize both internal control over the military, and bolster he reign with a great success.   By provoking The Uluk Empire with minor raids and skirmishes by paid mercenaries, Auralis forced the member-nations to seek aid from one another to defeat the far more organised and unified threat from the west. A motion was put before the Palantine Council to unfiy the military, and though Leiden dissented, Hanzig had suffered greatly already and sided with the Emperess.   So ratified as the 1st Ammendment to the Imperialis Dictat, Auralis marshalled the sizeable forces of Varsica, a disgruntled Leiden, and a desperate Hanzig, equipping all of them at great cost to the Varsican treasury. So armed, however, they proved more than capable of matching the already exhausted and drained Uluks.   The war was eventually won at The Battle of the Wend, a deciscive strike that sent the Uluks fleeing straight into the waiting ambush of the lightly equipped yet dangerously armed Imperial Army. Threatened now by Naggaryn, Thenia, and The Brazen Empire, the Uluk Empire had no choice but to sue for peace and cede the Waymarch.
