The Night of Black Blood

As the clock struck midnight, across every city in The Brazen Empire, the Cultists of Entropy left their homes and warrens in black robes. What followed was a night of slaughter, brutal killings inflicted in total silence as a series of explosions targeted structures across the realm, seemingly at random.   Though the guard would respond, none were prepared for this degree of sudden bloodshed, and many were killed before they arrived. Attempts to arrest them failed miserably, the perpetrators either taking their own lives, or entering such frenzies that non-lethal measures were impractical.   By the next day, the violence was done, and not a whisper could be heard about the events. Attempts to discover the cause of the outburst were fruitless, and no other nation reported similar occasions within their own territory.
