The Sundering of Penchant

Political event

41/47/04

The Nation of Penchant formally splits, leaving behind the Democracies of De Treva and Averaine, The Free City of Garou, The Chantry League, and the Roiaux Enclave. Each is given the title of Free Prince, their ability to vote greatly restricted.

With the great question of Penchant hanging in the air, the Emperor-Elect finally acquires enough support to put the situation to rest. Formally recognising the Republics of De Treva and Averaine, the Principality of Garou, The Chantry League, and the Roiaux Enclave, their positions as Free Princes are enshrined within the Imperialis Dictat.   This brings a measure of peace to the embattled region, and though the occasional dispute flares, all parties are generally pleased by the outcome. The Duchy of Penchant is enshrined in history, the hold of the past finally broken.
