Warforged
The ability to create Warforged were recently learned by the Human League of Synthetica. Upon learning this power, they constructed the Warforged Smithy to produce them as the army of Synthetica. Warforged became Synthetica's major contribution to the war effort after the confrontation began with the Major Keys.
It takes many long magical rituals and specialized machinery in the Smithy to create each warforged. This has limited the number of warforged created to between 7 and 10 a month for the last 7 years. Warforged are usually similar in shape and size, but have some minor variations. Though fully mature, warforged are often ignorant of many social aspects. The Human League considers them more property than equals, so they are often not assertive without being trained as a military officer.
Basic Information
Biological Traits
Warforged typically have metal plates covering most of their body, with magically infused wood or cables acting as their equivalent to muscle tissue. Their eyes are often some type of gemstone. The body plates are usually steel or iron but may be made out of other metals as well. They have a jaw but lack the typical facial features to show sound enunciations as biological sapients do. This sometimes throws others off when they begin speaking, with their jaw moving without lips to form the sounds.
Civilization and Culture
Naming Traditions
Most warforged were assigned numerical designations for use in military service. Many of them adopted nicknames, often given to them by their comrades. As independent individuals, some have chosen new names as a way to express their path in life. A few take on human names, often the name of a fallen friend or mentor.
Warforged Names: Anchor, Banner, Bastion, Blade, Blue, Bow, Cart, Church, Crunch, Crystal, Dagger, Dent, Five, Glaive, Hammer, Iron, Lucky, Mace, Oak, Onyx, Pants, Pierce, Red, Rod, Rusty, Scout, Seven, Shield, Slash, Smith, Spike, Temple, Vault, Wall
Gender Ideals
The typical warforged has a sexless body shape. Some warforged ignore the concept of gender entirely, while others adopt a gender identity. Those that do adopt a gender typically alter their vocals to match their gender. This is usually done to mimic the gender differences of the humans who created them.
Culture and Cultural Heritage
Warforged are often rather emotionless, but that doesn't mean they are incapable of expressing emotions. They have been built and trained for war, so they take loyalty to one's owner or commander with the utmost seriousness. Each command or mission is of equal importance to a warforged, so they are regarded as highly loyal. Warforged are not typically connected to religion, but some adopt faith in service to their masters. Those who have been granted or earned their freedom sometimes choose to explore their emotions and potential relationships with others.
History
Warforged are the youngest race of Cisum, having been artificially created 7 years prior to the conflict between the nations of the Acapellago and the Major Keys. The Human League was conducting research on some mysterious books. These books described sentient, sapient constructs that could be produced through a combination of magic and technology. League Headquarters tasked their most adept mages and brilliant tinkerers to decipher the process. It took several years and mishaps to make the first warforged. That successful process has been maintained by the League ever since.
The first warforged, officially designated as SW-001, came to life almost 7 years prior to the Major Keys' assault on Sabatonia. This warforged earned the nickname Prime from both League military and his fellow warforged. Prime was trained in military leadership and tactics and given a high-level rank in Synthetica's military, as well as command over most of the warforged. As the conflict with the Major Keys developed into a full-tilt war, Synthetica sold warforged to other island nations and supplied them as their troop contribution to the war.
