Churgath

The God of pestilence, trechery, and charity, the Lord of Lies rules over the Plains of Putrefaction in the lands of Dis. Appearing to the terribly unlucky as a rotting and hollowed corpse, Churgath comes to those at their lowest, offering to remedy their ailments, requiring only absolute servitude in exchange. While these desciples often feel healthier at first, through repeated interaction with the deity their condition gradually worsens as they become host to numerous diseases. The victim in this case is often unable to perceive these changes until it is too late. Once the Scourgeplague fully sets in the deciple has one choice, become a thrall of the Plaguegod, or become the corpse which once visited them. Thralls of the plaguegod have the potential to wipe entire towns down to mere lone survivors through the spread of disease. If a town be plagued by the Poxfather it is better to Raze it all to avoid its spread. However, it is said that Churgath smiles upon those who give without the intent of receiving, rewarding those who practice philantrophy and beneficence with good health, or at least the absence of disease. The motives of the God of Sickness are muddled and umpreceptable and while it is often best to aviod the attention of the mad, some still make offerings in Churgath's name to receive the gift of charity which the god covets.
