Ashborne

During the first years of the current era, many births were stillborn, far more than those born healthy. For many, this was a sign that hope had abandoned them. However, after some time the number of successful births increased and the fear of bearing children subsided. However, there is now another fear for those who wish to bear children. The Ashborn are the Mortal equvalent of Darkflame Abominations. Many of these chilldren are stillborn, however, shortly after birth are engulfed in a wreath of black flame before awakening. Their startling nature invokes disettlement within the general population who see this black flame as an omen. The onset of an ashborne child is incredibly rare with only a handful of individuals since recorded history ever being confirmed to be ashborne. The onset of such a condition remains a mystery and its effect on the lives of the ashborn is often obscured at best. What is known, however, is that most ashborn children are abandoned or worse.  

Appearance

The Ashborne are often have gray pigmintation in their skin and eyes that seem to glow in dim light. Their quick-flesh is often discolored or completely blackened. Their skin is known to be unnaturally smooth and their hair shines with an iridecent sheen. They often have strange inexplainable abilities that sometimes effect their appearance. Ashborne are often prone to facial and bodily disfigurement that they acquire as they age.
