Hunter's Guild

Structure

Each Chapter of the Hunters Guild is headed by a Scoutmaster. They are responsible for delegating tasks, recruiting new members, and evaluating Hunter's Guild interests and job oppurtunities. They are also responsible for maintaining the area's Monster-Hunter League which often is included in the charter between the Guild and the Settlement it exists within. Below the Scoutmaster is the Hunter, certified for their abilities in combat, exploration, beastology, and general survivalism. Under the hunters are hunter-prospects and lastly fledgling scouts. Most Hunter's guild jobs are received and administered by the Scoutmaster directly who only answers to the current scoutmaster prime and local municipalities as generalised in their charter. A chapter of the Hunters guild may also have a beastmaster, who often catalogs and defines local fauna.

Culture

The Hunters of the Hunter's Guild are often duty and work-oriented, quickly becoming experts in their craft often because survival makes this a necessity. Any well-greased hunter has seen much and learned much more and hunters are expected to become very good very quickly. Hunters also take great pride in their preparedness, collecting and customising their own equipment to meet their needs. This, coupled with the high payout of more dangerous jobs makes seasoned hunters not only well respected but among some of the wealthiest among the population. Members of the Monster-Hunting league also receive great honor and presige along with payment for their positions and can often be viewed as heroes among general populations.

Public Agenda

The responsability of the Hunter's Guild is to make life more livible for the common man, by means of protecting them from beasts who would do them harm. No beast is too vicious no foe too maligned. While the hunter's guild focuses mostly on beastly or aberational threats, they have been known to be bounty hunters as well.

History

The Hunter's Guild was founded almost immediately after the events of the Spirefell Legend as the world needed to be recharted and explored once again. Originally the Pioneer's Guild, the first of its members were explorers, the founder being known to be one Mayweather Candleheart. After loosing one of their limbs in combat, Candleheart sought to pass what knowlege they had to other pioneers and teach them the ways of survival in this new world. Much of what is known of the world of Cinder's Hope was built on manuscripts writted by Candleheart themselves. Many Hunters revere Candleheart as the Patron Saint of exploration and survival. There is a shrine to Mayweather located in Crossway City where they died. Their place of burial and Mayweather's prised Beast-tooth necklace are considered relics of the guild. Over time, the guild has branched out to nearly every habited location, becoming a staple of most towns. They often work closely with town militia and guard to protect the area's they live within.
