Zid Valen Slaib
A Zid Valen Slaib or clothes have always been a representation of their culture. They tend for colorful garments that have runic symbols carved in them. While their clothes do not have magical properties normally they do have the potential if made from more magical infusing clothes. The focus of a Slaib is focused on identifying which family or clan one comes from. The runic symbols sewn in work as a marking of the clans so that different clans can identify each other at a glance. Back in the day even the color was important to a slaib.
History
Back during the time of the ten human tribes the Zid Valen who focused on the art of runes lived in many different small clans in a beautiful and vibrant land. They knew magic was potent there and would use runes to manipulate them. Their focus and belief in the importance of runes is why it ended up on their slaib's. They connected their clans to symbols of magic and the power behind them. Each clan using a number of runes to represent them so that they can be known by others.
Things changed when the first war of the descendants occurred forcing the Zid Valen to migrate to much harsher environment. This lead to them adding practical runes to their slaibs in order to improve their chances of survival. This change would follow them even as the second was was beginning to form.
One must always maintain their slaib as it is the first thing someone notices. Going to meet with other clans with a dirty are worn slaib can show how little you care for yourself or your clan.
