The Lord of Hex is the leader of a group focused on uncovering forbidden magics and relics. The lord being the one to set the greater purpose of the group even as most members seek their own glories.

They Need to Accomplish a great work that allows them to become one of the Hex Chosen. Once they achieve this they are set to be a candidate if anything were to happen to the current Lord,

They have to gain control of a great relic to even have a chance at becoming a hex chosen and gain the chance of being a candidate.
