Diver's Coral
They can be seen around a Diver's neck hanging from a blue grey colored steel chain holding a small piece of coral refined into a rectangle like cuboid structure. Now every Diver is given one coral each and are taught to treasure this item as if it were their life, for it can inform the WDA of who it belongs to and it also affects your credit standing within the Association.
An important piece of a Diver's gear the coral also is something that the Association requests the return of if possible when a Diver falls in a Door. Special requests have even come through for groups or guilds to retrieve a Diver's Coral if the Door is still open and fulfilled almost honorably as a way of remembering those who have been lost to death.
The origins of such an item come from the appearance of the first Door in London, it opened into a underwater realm completely foreign to Earth and in there the walls of coral were found and collected for study as they seemed to be a large part of the culture of the monstrous beings found within. After some time and research the Association has found a way to use it in modern day and also as a stepping stone in understanding the workings of other materials found within the Doors.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
One of a few items crafted from the coral found in the first Door, it has the property to store information imprinted into it through the transferring of mana. This item in particular is used to record the Diver's identification, and current balance of credit within the WDA.
These credentials can also be used to access terminals found in the Association's Offices when utilizing the network in search of information, Door requests and other resources provided to the registered Divers. Another function of this item includes the transmutation of the physical visibility of the item's structure in the form of color and refraction of light to make the item camouflaged as long as it is near a source of mana.
Currency
Coral is the currency of the Worldwide Diver's Association and is used by many if not all Diver's that are registered.
The notable ways for earning Coral are:
- Closing Doors
- Completing Requests for Openings and Monster Hunts
- Trading Monsters and their Parts
- Trading Mana Crystals and other materials
- Trading Items found in Doors
- Income based off of Contracts with the WDA, Guilds or even Governments
Significance
