Treaty of Arthesian Unity

The document's purpose was to expand and officialise an alliance between various Shapeshifter Clans who had joined forces in order to stop the Gysian army from encroaching further into their territory. The treaty would would lead to the creation of the Arthesian Confederacy, a country made up of the union of nearly all clans and tribes within The Ghoro Marshlands region.

By late 352 Ac, while the war between the Arthesian clans and the Kingdom of Gysia was ongoing, a group of 7 clans, including 2 of the most powerful in the region, called upon the remaining few dozens other clans in the region to come to the City of Forno, in order to establish an alliance that would be strong enough to push back the Gysian invaders.

In Arthesia

In the marshlands, many in the general population did not like the treaty, simply because they did not really trust each other's clans. However, as the war concluded and the years progressed, the sharp drop in the number of wars in the region has compelled many to change their mind. In fact, since the treaty, a new generation of inhabitants was born. and unlike all the others since time immemorial, they have lived in relative peace.

In Gysia

In contrast, the Kingdom of Gysia was caught off-guard when most of the area suddenly united against them. Ever more so when their army was ambushed and nearly wiped out by the clans alliance, which forced them to negotiate for peace. After the war, numerous attempts were made to cause a rift in the alliance to break it, most notably in the use of an assassin to kill a prominent and charismatic war chief, but it didn't work.

Elsewhere in Arros

The new Arthesian Confederacy also directly bordered the Kingdom of Shorai and the Kingdom of Alvaros as well as the Kavasian Empire. While Alvaros took its time to send envoys to establish formal diplomatic relations, both Shorai and Kavasia were eager to establish trade and especially military alliances against Gysia. Shorai, now reduced to North-Shorai, would formally ally the Confederacy in 369, following their devastating war against Gysia.
