The Tablet of Urkum

The tablet of Urkum is a large baked clay tablet that was found in the First Age ruins of the city of Urkum, located in western Osian. The tablet was written in a old version of Taonese, with a script that is no longer in used.   Linguists from the Kingdom of Nan-Tao managed to translate the tablet's message during the later half of the Second Age, and it was realized that the message was a description on one of the most tragic moment in humanity's history: The comet impact that triggered the Long Winter.

The spring sun rises today with a bright star acompagnying him. It comes from the east, and the south-east.   It is not a star, and it is not one of the moons. It moves fast, and it grows brighter every hour.   The people are scared. General claims the other towers are evacuating. We are not.   It is a comet. Our stonemages confirm it. It is past the noon sky, and flying towards the west, and towards the north.   The comet grows above us. It burns brightly, and a large black tail follows it behind, like a dark dragon.   The sun sets, and the comet descends towards the west. It roars like an angry wind.   A large blast was heard by all. The ground has been shaking for many minutes. The mountains in the west are moving.   A darkness spreads from the west, and is drowning the stars, and bleeding the moons.   Air grows hotter. Black winds descend the mountains.
