Noh'kan Snakes

The Noh'kan is a large species of snake that originates from the Xejukan Wilds of the north-eastern Mahador. It is the largest known species of snakes in the world.

Anatomy

An Adult Noh'kan snake typicaly grows to around a metre in diametre, and up to 80 metres in lenght. Their bodies are covered in emerald green scales, with thin lines of black scales stretching from the top of their head and along their back, ending and including the whole tail.   Their slitted eyes glow a bright red colour, while their forked tongue instead have a deep purple colour. They possess a large mouth, big enough to swallow relatively large preys, including humans.   Unlike many other reptilian species of the region, the Noh'kan do not produce any venom, prefering to simply kill their preys by crushing and suffucating them.

Habitat

Noh'kan snakes primarly live in the dense jungles of the Xejukan Wilds, specificaly near water sources, which are abundant in the region and consists of muddy streams, muddy ponds and sandy lakes. They are big enough to topple large mature trees and dig water channels in order to create their own little habitats.

Nesting

Noh'kan snakes built their nests by digging a large hole in the ground, where they then lay their eggs. These take about 2 months to hatch and once they do, they have to be strong enough to climb out of the hole by themselves, while the weak are left behind to die.   Because of their large size, even baby noh'kan are large enough to be a danger to human and livestock. The snakes continue to grow as they eat throughout their entire life span, enabling them to reach truly monstrous sizes.
