Intro

Demons are considered to be the result of the final stage of evolution of an unrested spirit. They are rare, but powerful creatures, able to seemlesly transition between physical and spectral forms, making them very dangerous foes to anyone that encounters them.

How are demons created

Demons are created when spirits who holds many negative emotions inherited from the people they used to be, are allowed to fester for years and decades without being rested. During that time, these negative emotions begins to grow and eventualy takes control of the spirit, transforming them into ghosts. These ghosts are more powerful and dangerous than spirits when felt to their own devices.   Overtime, they grow in powerby feeding on negative emotions around them until they finaly transform into a full fledged demon. Both spirits and ghosts can retain a human appearance. Demons however, regularly take on large monstrous forms, usualy combining aspects from various real-life animals and beasts. It is not know if this is done volontarily or not, but many scholars assume that it is, and is done to intimidate their oponents.

What are the dangers of demons

Demons are very powerful creatures, who feed on negative emotions of nearby humans. The most powerful of them can not only feed on negative emotions, but also absorb the souls of living beings, animals and humans alike. In their physical form, they are also known to straight up eat both animals and humans if they are large enough.   The presence of demons also attracks other spirits and ghosts, who protect the demon with their lives in a sort-of pack-like behaviour. This means that to defeat a powerful demon, one must first defeat these other ghosts as well before getting to them. Demons are also able to give stronger ghosts a physical form.

How to defeat a demon

When demons decides to take on a physical form, they also become vulnurable to physical attacks. Both fire and ice based attacks are very good at dealing to them. However, as these attacks weakens them, they often revert to a spiritual form to conserve Mana energy, and physical attacks cannot hurt hurt them anymore.   This is when Necromancers become crucial in defeating them, as they are able to attack them even while they are in a non-physical form. Necromancers can steal their mana energy and weaponise it against them. After taking too many hits, the demon will revert back to its original spirit, and will be able to be rested by the Necromancer.
