Serenity Argent/ Serenitori
Lady Serenitori Argentium (a.k.a. Serenity Argent)
Compassion in an Age of Aggression
Almost a millennium ago, deep within the mountains bordering Illu-Amaru, a silver wyrmling hatched and looked into the sky with hope. Serenitori spent most of her younger years atop the peaks Saffron's Spine, always going out to observe the strange creatures who seemed to die just as their lives started. As she grew and gained more independence, the Storm Tyrant gave a decree; those strange creatures, called humanity, was to be purged. "They have long since abandoned the truth and chosen to make Servants and Stewards into Kings and Queens, so they would be wiped out and given the chance rise again. If they were meant to exist, they would come about again and this time, perhaps they'd remember their place." At first, the novelty of the Tyrant's command was invigorating; it was like the words themselves drove her to action. But she was apart of two raids before she realized that something in her was amiss. She had no desire to see these creatures come to harm; her very understanding of her faith was that as a "short-lived" race, they were bound to make mistakes and should be guided back to the proper path. She soon found around her others who felt this way, those whose scales shimmered like her's, shone like gems, and even some whose body was covered in deep colored scales. Serenitori, not long after choosing to abstain, met an older Gold Dragon called Aurinium. As a dragon whose claws were already long, he provided protection from the Storm Tyrant's ire; disobedience of his command was a sure way to meet one's end. For half a decade, she hid in the mountains with those who had also abstained, waiting a praying that Aurinium could plead their case. Never had she experienced such fear and to this day, those nights may still send a shiver up her spine. But the weight of the Storm Tyrant's wrath lifted one day, like thunderheads being swept aside in a gale. She and the other dissenters thought that Aurinium had made the Tyrant see their side, but what she discovered had shaken all of Illu-Amaru: a human man, high ranking in their armies, had walked into the heart of Illu-Amaru, found the Storm Tyrant's Throne and plead for a case of peace. The Sovereigns, Aurinium being one, began drafting a pact to bind the humans to their word. In this endeavor, a small council was to be made to ensure that humanity kept its promises from their side. Many of the Chromatics were skeptical of this peace, none more so than the Amaranths. Even when they were the most "amenable", they pressed for an overseeing and ruling body for humanity, claiming it was the best they deserved. Though the Tyrant at the time was an elder Chromatic, he and his mate dismissed such notions, claiming such actions would dishonor their Roots and ultimately lead to divine retribution. The Amaranths would later go on to attempt to overthrow the Storm Tyrant, going so far as to kill his mate in the process. Those days were dark days in Illu-Amaru and Amaranths have been all but wiped out. Coming back to the matter of the council, it was determined that three dragons would reside east of the mountains, with the humans, and monitor their growth and adherence to the pact. Aurinum, being the idea's progenitor, was given the task of finding the other two. He attempted to find one Chromatic and one Gem but neither wanted to spend their days playing human for the sake of a pact that was seen as tenuous at best. So he selected two more Metallics: a young dragon from an Iron clan across the sea and Serenitori, a Silver scaled dragon. The pact was finalized and brought to the humans to sign and complete. Their scattered groups of tribes and clans came together to form what they called a "dominion", with the human who had brokered the deal, Leon Ra'el, as their leader. Serenitori, Aurinium, and Aeon were each given a plot of land and freedom to observe as they saw fit; very few knew of the arrangement. Each slowly made their way into positions of status and authority in order to better keep an eye on the Dominus and the Dominion at large.Silver In Disguise
Serenitori, who took on the name Serenity Argent, made her way north, into the region called Mez by the humans. There she found an appropriate place to establish her lair properly and built a temple on top of it. Over the course of two generations, she was able to convince the surrounding populace that a silver dragon not only trusted her family, but in its passing, left the hoard to them to give charitably. The Silver Temple was soon synonymous with charity and humanitarian aid. Serenity herself always comes and goes into the Dominion, holding her duty at a general population level; that is to say she watches the normal people and alway has a feeling for the prevailing spirit of the culture. She will even, on occasion, sponsor some adventurer's quest. Serenity, still holding her faith paramount, looks for ways to put its ideas in the culture. One such endeavor was her recent construction of a house of worship to The Ternion Roots . It is a faith that is not practiced heavily in the Dominion and risks being seen as invasive, due to the high density of dragon practitioners. She is often seen as easy going, and fiercely loyal to friends, always walking with some song in her step and a bright smile on her human face.Physical Description
