Hjldres
The Hjldres are a fierce race of slavers, thought to be the descendents of a Goblin adventuring party from centuries ago who set up camp on the outskirts of the Twilight Woods to plunder its unexplored depths, but overtime the curse of the woods infected the Hjldres and while they gained long life they lost the will to leave the woods.
now they populate the city of Trondhiem and its great ports, built into the abandoned den of some ancient giant monster. the cities primary revenue is from capturing beings in the woods and selling them on overseas. they have a well developed magical tatoo system that marks all slaves, which allows Hjldres to see them through walls and buildings.
A cruel and impatient race, the madness of the woods holds a deep sway on them all, and they spend as little time as possible away from the woods, journeying to other ports briefly to sell their cargos and return the same day.
Basic Information
Anatomy
6 to 7 ft tall, they have lanky bodies, with sinewy muscle and far too many bones showing through their leathery grey/blue skin. large feet and hands, mostly all bald with few having some single strands of hair.
Genetics and Reproduction
Hjldres mating is a mystery to all other races, but visitors remark they see very few young during their stay.
Growth Rate & Stages
it takes 7 years from birth for a Hjldres to be fully grown, during this phase it is known as a Whelp. as they will latch onto their mothers and rarely let go until near fully grown.
Ecology and Habitats
The Hjldres live on the outskirts of the Twilight Woods, on the sure of a dark , they like the damp salty air and are fine with the humidity of the mushroom woods. the spores have little effect on them.
Dietary Needs and Habits
They eat little, mostly mushrooms and roast meat, with few grains such as rice. Mushrooms are abundant in the area and small game widely available to be hunted. they have no patience to breed cattle.
Biological Cycle
Due to the Twilight Woods the Hjldres enjoy a kind of immortality, they are very long lived although slowly lose their mind to the woods as they get older. Youth is a state of mind, as physical maturation only takes several years, thus a Hjldres could be 200 and still act like a welp (hljdres young)

Perception and Sensory Capabilities
they have the darkvision of all Goblinoids, their hearing is especialy good at drowning out echoes thanks to a complex inner ear.
