Origins
Dragons have always been mighty creatures deserving of reverance and admiration. In many cultures, there is a tradition of creating small carvings or statues of dragon-like people near the lairs of the powerful creatures. As these creations steeped in the powerful magic of the dragons for untold centries, they were eventually awakened. So were born the first kobolds of magic and materials.
Few have been born in the old ways in the days since. Because it takes so long for the magic of dragons to bring them to life, many break or weather beyond recognition before they can be fulfilled with magic.
It is said that the kobolds were the inspiration for the ritual that now births Dragonborn.
Regions
Kobold colonies can pop up anywhere there are dragons, but they often migrate elsewhere. Large Kobold communities have popped up in the Federation of Forested Kingdoms, the Absayris Desert, and the Marsh of Many Scales. In the Marsh, howover, they are oftentimes used as slave labor by the Lizardfolk or other denizens.
Stereotypes
| Stereotype | Why this Stereotype Exists |
| Kobolds worship dragons. |
Some do worship dragons, just as many Elder Races worship their Progenitor God. But others have turned to other religions that align more with their particular beliefs. It is rarer than the same behavior in Elder Races, however, because many Kobolds know that their dragon is not truly a god. |
| Kobolds have a hard time in daylight. |
Kobolds, if not exposed to daylight in their youths, can develop a form of sunlight sickness. If they are exposed, however, the sun will not bother them more than anyone else. |
| Koblds are adorable. |
This is true. |
