Origins
Kenku were the second of the Mageborn races. They were created to act as spies by mages in harkinmont. Their ability to repeat back exactly what they had heard was considered their most important trait. While their creators tried to impart them with the ability to fly, they were unable to do so. Ultimately, their deadline was reached, and the Kenku were, reluctantly, considered finished. Though they were employed as spies and messengers, as they reproduced, they spread, and ultimately grew beyond the control of those who paid to have them created.
Regions
Kenku are most commonly found in urban areas where they can find new sounds and their particular skills are most needed. Some kenku prefer seclusion, though, even if it is more difficult for them to add new sounds to their repertoire.
Stereotypes
| Stereotype | Why this Stereotype Exists |
| Kenku are unintelligent. |
This is largely the product of both Kenku only being able to repeat things they have heard and Kenku taking a moment to string the right words together. Many Kenku have also shown that they have preferences on voices they've heard, and will try to use them even if what they can say doesn't make much sense. |
| Kenku can fly. |
Despite their avian appearances, Kenku lack the ability to fly biologically. Many have resolved to solve this problem through magical or mechanical means. |
| Kenku are loyal. |
Kenku have good memories, and culturally value returning favors. This translates to Kenku having a strong sense of loyalty, which can extend to giving gifts to those who have helped them. |
