Hobgoblin

Origins

Goblin physiology seems to be highly reactive to different types of magical energies. The Bugbears were born of natural and fae magics, the Verdan of divine power, and the Hobgoblins came into being when Goblins were exposed to the infernal. Like the Bugbears, they were also goblins that turned from Quetminook and became feral. Unlike the Bugbears, they did not go to the forests, but into deep caves. What they did not know was that the caves they chose were very close to Krazzentar before the Kervtrat separated it into its own plane. The infernal energies turned them into soldiers, warriors, and strategists. The Hobgoblins are powerful battlefield commanders and several have sworn themselves to the hells.   

Regions

Hobgoblins prefer underground areas, particularly those near or under the Obsidian Strip.   

Stereotypes

Stereotype	Why this Stereotype Exists
Hobgoblins want to be tyrants.	Hobgoblins often want order, and they are not picky about where it cmes from. If they have to be the force for order in tthe world, they will be, but many are content to follow those with vision.
Hobgoblins can fight using whatever they can get their hands on.	Hobgoblin youth are often trained in a few select martial weapons. This leads people seeing the vast number of weapons that Hobgoblins use and leading them to assume that they can all use all the weapons.
Hobgoblins can summon infernal creatures.	While they are connected to the infernal, only the Hobgoblins with very strong and intentional ties to the devils have the power to summon them.
