Origins
Harkonian Hybrids were created as a defense project for Harkinmont. Several people realized that the guards of Harkinmont were poorly equipped to locate and apprehend magical threats. The result was the Hybrid Project, a way to infuse paid volunteers with the attributes of several animals. By and large, the program was a success, and the Hybrids were able to quickly find and incarcerate several arcanely talented criminals. No one has been forced into the program, but some children of Hybrids have been noted to carry their parents' adaptations.
Regions
Harkonian Hybrids almost exclusively live in Harkinmont, though some leave after their retirement. Those who are natural born often have a hard time finding acceptance outside Harkinmont where the experiments are viewed with more distrust.
Stereotypes
| Stereotype | Why this Stereotype Exists |
| Becoming a Harkonian Hybrid is a punishment. |
No one is forced to become a Hybrid, though many may choose to become one if their career is struggling. This gives them a way to increase the number of completed cases, new ways to traverse the city, and opportunities for advancement. |
| Harkonian Hybrids are top-notch detectives. |
Some certainly have an eye for detail and a mind that can put the clues together, but for those who aren't as talented, there is always an option to partner with a standard detective and to do most of the legwork. |
| Harkonian Hybrids Jakular's work. |
Despite their animalistic appearances, the Hybrids are mageborn. As the latest of the mageborn breeds, it can be seen how far their advances have come since the Kenku, and potentially the Plasmoids. |
