Origins
Fae energies are mercurial, fanciful, and mysterious. Perhaps that is why they chose hares, of all creatures, to raise to sapience. The 'why' of the situation will likely never be understood, but this is the origin for the Harengon: fae whim. It is unknown if this is an ongoing process or if Harengon expand their numbers exculsively by procreation now. Based on their growth, it seems that the latter is the case, though they do have a lower growth rate than normal hares. This seems to keep them from overrunning their environments.
Regions
They seem to have popped up anywhere that fae energy is prevalent. Forests, riverlands, marshes and more all have at least small Harengon communities.
Stereotypes
| Stereotype | Why this Stereotype Exists |
| Harengon procreate like rabbits. |
Their rate of expansion is far lower than that of hares or rabbits. It is unclear if this was intentionally done by the fae energy or if it simply a byproduct of their creation. |
| Harengon scare easily. |
Unlike their feral family, Harengon have minds as quick as their feet, and often use them to confuse and confound their adversaries. Many of their gambits require a mixture of courage and foolishness. |
| Harengon are a form of Biethtíre. |
Since they were not formed of divine energy by Athneron in 12 C.T., but by Fae energies after the Kervtrat, they are not Biethíre. |
