Origins
Goliaths were born of experimentation. Several races that were traditionally small, such as gnomes, goblins, dwarves, and halflings, bound together in search of a way to become more. They found their answers in transmutation magic: the ability to add more mass to themselves and become taller. After completing their ritual, the group decided to leave their community for the mountains they had a sudden and unexplicable urge to settle. After several generations of breeding between themselves, they were no longer enlarged versions of their previous races, but something new: the Goliaths.
Regions
Much like their progenitors, the Goliaths find themselves drawn to the mountains. Anywhere the ground rises to meet the heavens is likely to have Goliaths.
Stereotypes
| Stereotype | Why this Stereotype Exists |
| Goliaths are a naturally occurring race. |
While they aren't technically a mageborn race, neither are they natural-born race. They fall into something of a categorical gray area, but they are certainly not borne of nature. |
| Goliaths are brutes. |
While there are certainly a large group of bulky goliaths, there are always those that remember their origins and honor them with study of the forces that created them. |
| Goliaths have a violent predisposition. |
This belief is largely a misunderstanding. The larger Goliaths have a hard time understanding how much strength they can use with smaller creatures. More than one pat on the back has been misinterpreted as a shove. |
