Dragonborn
Origins
Dragonborn are created by dragons when they have need of a servant to do some task for them. This can be as simple and short as delivering a message or as complex and difficult as killing another dragon that their creator has taken issue with. Once they complete this task, they are free to do as they wish. They can return to their dragon and continue to serve, pursue their own goals, or take up a job similar to their task. Due to the circumstances of their creation, Dragonborn are incapable of reproducing.Regions
Dragonborn can be found anywhere there are dragons, and in many places where there are none. They are all over the continent, in a way that few other races are.Stereotypes
| Stereotype | Why this Stereotype Exists |
|---|---|
| Dragonborn are made by a dragon mating with a humanoid. | Their appearance is generally what spurs this stereotype. In reality, dragons have figured out a powerful ritual that enables them to create life temporarily under their thrall. The ritual is very taxing, however, and they find it difficult to hold many to their will for any significant amount of time. |
| Dragonborn enjoy doing their tasks. | Dragonborn are often born with their personalities, but they are not molded by the dragon that creates them. Thusly, many are given tasks that they do not enjoy, such as sending a gentle person to commit atrocities. |
| Dragonborn are well equipped for their tasks. | Much like their minds are not molded by the dragon, so too are their bodies out of the hands of their creators. This means that several Dragonborn have not had the requisite faculties to complete their tasks. |
