Adisoda & Candelario

As far as libaries are consered, the 'Venereum Fabula Adisoda et Candelario' is an odd case in that it is archived and stored as religiously as the texts of old. As it is a 'new' publication, I find this practice quite odd. Maybe Mrs Lefèvre threatened them to keep it safe, maybe otherwise.

Adisoda & Candelario (also known by the longer title, Venereum Fabula Adisoda et Candelario) was a publication written by Lady Adelphia Lefèvre - wife of the chief advisor to King Aitor III, Clímaco Lefèvre. As eccentric as Adelphia might be, writing is considered her most famous hobby of sorts with only her attempts of literature gaining traction.

About

Fantasy and romance not based on religion on mythology are rarer genres to be published due to their subject matter. However, most surprisingly the romances are both. The novel tells the tale of the romance between a prince - Candelario - of a nation and his mistress, Adisoda Cepeda. Some consider it based on the tale of King Fardrique and many of his lovers.

Reaction

My goodness, how overindulgent!
— A noble's reaction to reading it

Nobility

Most considered her novel another of her pet projects and not serious endavour as expected by Adelphia. However, some were plesantly suprised by the contents of the novel due to its uniquness. After all, most novels that are published are memoirs, academic, business, mythology or theology. Due to her temperment, and deep obsession with her projects, most, because of her husband's infulence, greatley complimented her work despite their own personal opinions.

Scholarly

Most academics had little time for the romances due to their dedecation to study. However, it is stored in the famous Archimal Library - the Currean archive for academic articles - a rare feat due to its extreme selectivity and its tendency not to store romances (or any sort of fiction) within its library. Some have took to studying it for possible historical inspirations as a side project to their usual work, although that is for more personal enjoyment over academic purposes.

Public

The delayed reaction of the public varies from who you are talking to and where you are on the continent. Some might consider it fantastic while others might think it terrible all down to their taste in literature. However, it seemed to be a consensus that the younger members of the populus had a more positive reaction. The reasons for this are unknown, although it could be due to more acsess to this publication whether it be thanks to the printing press or the increased rate of literacy in the lower class.
