Spaghetti & Meatballs

How something as simple as spaghetti and meatballs has become almost revered in the West following the Cataclysm.... someone could write an entire encyclopedia on the phenomenon. Not me, though. - The Author
"You've tasted meatballs?!"
"Mate... they're just Cinemic. Go to Cinem, you get them anywhere."
— A confused Cinemic man, 1510
Spaghetti and meatball were once staples of Cinemic restaurants across Chardovil West, including the infamous Corner Locket, once located in the Ashijani capitol of Shar.1 The dish attained practically mythical status following the Cataclysm in 1508, where every Cinemic restaurant in the West was leveled and the majority of Cinemic survivors either relocated to Altraxia or returned to Cinem.2
Traditional Cinemic food can be found all across Chardovil East and Altraxia, but was virtually eliminated in the West.

Western Exodus

Cinemic cuisine, including spaghetti and meatballs, was long a staple of restaurants with even distant ties to the small nation in the East. However that foothold in the West was almost entirely obliterated as the destruction of restaurants passed through generations lead to many Cinemic chefs to relocate, nearly doubling the Cinemic population in Altraxia.2

Elusive Recipes

The history of Cinemic recipes passed down through generations via word-of-mouth instead of cookbooks has led to an entire industry of instructors that claim to "teach you how to make traditional Cinemic dishes at home!"3 Customer reviews of such courses, however, remain mixed, and those with Cinemic ancestry often describe them as "out and out scams."4

Why Spaghetti & Meatballs?
According to the owners of The Corner Locket restaurant, pre-Cataclysm, the God of Death's favorite food was the spaghetti and meatballs from The Corner Locket.5 Witnesses during the Cataclysm even claim the God himself one dined there, masquerading as a mortal.
Finding any information beyond pure speculation, rumor, and hearsay, regarding the God of Death and his alleged ties to the infamous dish have proven neigh impossible.
