Planar Severence
The Severance seems to be little more than a theory here, even to the scientists. It makes one wonder how many generations have passed for its denizens. - The Author
Material Echoes
Chardovil itself is a severed piece of our own plane of existence, a mere echo of the Material Plane most people call home. It was a powerful entity older than time itself, designed specifically to hide away the powerful, but volatile magic known as Vericraft and prevent any entity from ever obtaining it.Impossible Odds
Despite intending Chardovil to be completely uninhabitable, intrepid interdimentional explorers stumbled their way through the planes and discovered Chardovil's thriving, natural landscape, untouched by civilizatrion. Somehow, these explorers managed to survive the myriad of magic, monsters, and mayhem hells-bent on killing them, but found themselves unable to return to the plane from whence they came. Trapped in Chardovil, they sought to tame the wild world around them.
Reality Itself
There are many names for the plane Chardovil was torn from: the Material Plane, Earth, the Universe, and so on. It largely depends on who you ask and their level of academic study.

"Thin, jagged cracks run across his body, looking like old scars, but you could've sworn he did not have them when you last spoke. What gets your attention, however, is the black lines in his otherwise solid white eyes. Like lightning is contained within."

Incorporating Chardovil Into Your Campaign
As a system-agnostic world, Chardovil is designed to slot neatly into as many TTRPGs as possible without the entire world breaking. Like always, you as the Game Master are welcome to take liberties with the mechanics, characters, and lore, to suit your needs.

A few examples of how a trip to Chardovil could be teased or executed in an ongoing campaign or existing universe:
- Any means of inter-planar or interstellar travel (ie. portals or the Astral Plane in D&D) can carry players to Chardovil
- Chardovil is a world of Vericraft, which may manifest as a form of Wild Magic
- Want to hint at Vericraft's influence in your world? It's signature color is a bright, electric violet!
- For sci-fi settings, consider making Chardovil it's own planet, inside a black hole or nebula!
