Notable people & organisations
Captain Lrosh Kraash is the commander of the Border Army and the highest ranking military commander in southern Chak Hruun. She is widely regarded as one of the most powerful people in the area, and an important figure for the city's civic leadership to get along with. The Border Army is responsible for safeguarding Chak Hruun's souther border. It is not a large army, but has barracks in all major settlements along the southern border. It is well-disciplined, and trained to fight in small squads that are well suited to rainforest combat. Chashiq's Ash Lord is an old Ashwalker called Hron Grarna. He has held power for over thirty years and generally keeps out of the public eye allowing other officials to oversee the daily running of the city. He prefers to spend more time on his religious duties than anything else.Notable locations
The Green Road is the only roadway into the Krinnig from Chak Hruun. It is used for rare diplomatic and trade missions into the rainforest, as well as once leading the way to now-abandoned gnoll settlements. The Border Barracks are home to the military might of the city. They're nothing fancy, but contain the soldiers' quarters, training ground, infirmary, mess hall and armoury. The captain and other officers also have offices here from which they liaise with military powers elsewhere in Chak Hruun. Baraan Chashiq, the city's centre of civic and religious power, is a temple to all the Beast Chiefs, as is common in many of Chak Hruun's smaller cities.Industry
Most people in Chashiq earn a living supporting the military in the city. There is a thriving hospitality industry offering options for the soldiers on their days off, along with a number of successful armourers, tailors, carpenters and engineers who procure, supply and maintain gear and clothing for the army.
