Othorout
There is also a pair of tiny red specks that appear to orbit very slowly (about once every 90 years) and that are always very close to one another. They appear to orbit each other so tightly that they almost appear as a pair of red eyes and as such are known as “Eyes of Othorout”, with one or the other blinking closed every other day or so (as they orbit one another so that part of the time only the closer of the two is visible).
Note that these are not moons, but in reality, they are a pair of tightly orbiting red-dwarfs that orbit around the central star at about 26 AU’s away from the central star with an orbital period of about 90 years. Due to the mass of these two stars, the planet of Ærnth goes through a cycle about every 90 years where it’s fairly-elliptical orbit is further from the central star, causing colder winters and cooler summers, while the opposite time in the cycle (about 45 years later) the summers will be much hotter and the winters warmer and wetter (more rain and less snow) than at the opposite end of the cycle.
A little-known fact is that there is also a plant Otherout, but it has a breathable atmosphere and it “orbits” (it actually sits directly between them at the gravitational center) the twin red-dwarfs. It is a harsh planet with extensive radiation due to its close-proximity to the twin stars and is a very humid and warm planet, that is about 70% covered by thick jungles, with numerous small to modest sized bodies of water. The high levels of radiation cause strange mutations of the creatures and plants (evolution progresses much quicker on Otherout than on the other worlds of the Ærnth system).
