Powers & Principalities: Celestial Hierarchies and Domains of Responsibility
People often think that if they were a god they could do whatever they want. And while technically true for the most part, it lacks the contextual understanding of the rules of divinity. Gods are not creatures of no purpose, instead each has a divine responsibility aligned with their divine power.
There are Powers and Principalities. Powers are simply gods without domains of responsibility. They each have their personal divine responsibility, but not one assigned as part of placement in a pantheon or the higher order. Principalities are gods within a Pantheon with a specific domain or multiple of which they are responsible for. The Major Gods are the Higher Order that presides as court over the Pantheons, serving as arbiter and judges in conflicts between the gods to prevent another celestial war.

And yet, they are so powerful they can still have all these issues and still inspire hope and worship from the mortals of the world.
