Talents

Talents are just that, abilities where everyone can have a basic amount of proficiency without the need of a tutor or formal training. Because of this, any dice roll involving a Talent that is natural to your character's educational type (Left column of the character sheet) suffers no dice penalty. A player wishing to make a Streetwise roll, for example, can still make the roll at a difficulty of six even if the character does not have a single dot in Streetwise—it simply has to be on the character sheet. Just because a Talent comes naturally without training, it doesn't mean that it can be increased cheaply. The cost for increasing the level of a talent is the same as other abilities in terms of experience points and may still require a teacher if it falls outside of a character's educational limits.
