Ritual of Resonance

Lorasys sat cross-legged on the ground, waiting for her two neighbors to arrive. She smiled, not surprised at the delay. These were Tortles, of course, and time worked differently for the shelled folk. Her eyes drifted around the glade- her glade- and met the saucer-like orbs of a young Firbolg peeking from behind a bush.   She smiled at her son and shook her head. This was not for him to see. Not without permission from Lito and Tapu. This ritual took different meanings for different folk, and they didn't always receive the answer they wanted. The mop of curly hair disappeared behind the bush, and she smiled again, trusting her son to respect her wishes on this.   The Tortles arrived late, as she expected. They shuffled and shared nervous and excited glances with one another as they approached the seated druid.   The grove was always prepared - patterns and combinations of plants and flowers, placed in such a way to augment the magics of the ritual. She began the ritual after they sat. Her chanted words and channeled energies flowed through Tapu and Lito, gently touching upon the essence of their ancestry. And slowly, she drew this energy out of the Tortles. Wisps of energy swirled from them, twirling together in a dance. As the wisps touched, they reacted with each other, forming a vibrant green-white glow that filled the grove.   Lorasys smiled. It was always a blessing to deliver good news to two individuals in love. The bloodlines of these two were complimentary - they could safely conceive a child.
