Novriad Blackfeather

Description: Novriad (he/him) Age: 6 (20 in aarakocra) Body: He is an Aarakocra that stands just below five and a half feet tall. Much like the rest of this temple, they are all hawks with black feathers, Mother had more grey feathers, so he was born with black feathers with some having silver tips, like stars in the night sky. When initiated into Night Haven they marked his beak and the underneath of his eyes with purple.

Night Haven (Home): The Temples on the peaks of mountains, mostly hidden from the outside world. The mountains surrounding the temples are covered in mist, it's hard to see the bottom. The temple itself sits on the highest peak in the territory with a small village on the mountain faces surrounding the temple. He was a part of the Blackfeather Temple, chicks who join or born into a Night Haven temple take the last name of their temple. In total there are 3 temples; Blackfeather, Mooncrest, Silverbeak.

My people mainly spoke Auran, but were forced to learn the common tongue, so if others might cry for help I might hear their calls. My parents also taught me Draconic, never knew when you come face to face with a dragon, especially in the mountains.

Horns: The Night Guards use specially made horns from a rare tree that can only grow on mountain peaks, that can only be used with an aarackoras beak. Using the weird sounds made from the horn, the Night Guard has used it to alert others who know the sound of different things. The Twilight Blossom Tree only grows on the peaks of mountains, it has white bark and purple leaves that glow faintly during twilight hours.

The stars tell stories: it is believed that when someone dies as long as they are not forgotten they will appear as a star. Together the stars can tell stories of the past and some believe they can tell what is to come

Novriad’s Hatching Day was on the Areliun, It is a day where night and day meet and create lights in the sky, this event can only be seen in these mountains. It represents the souls that have not been able to cross and a bridge of light guides the way.

Night Bloom Tree: A small tree that only grows in the mountains around Night Haven temples, it has white wood and blossoms with a glowing white middle, the pedals going from a light purple to a dark purple.

Other People: Father: Qlaek Blackfeather. Mother: Ruress Silverbeak. Uncle: Kraek Blackfeather. Novriad joined Night Haven of the Blackfeather Temple, just like his father and uncle. His father was the leader of one of the temples, when he died it was taken over by his uncle who didn't see eye to eye with Qlaek on how things should be run, as he made the Night Haven initiation challenge. Kraek was always jealous towards his brother, Qlaek was the leader of Blackfeather temple and he was not, he immediately took the role of leader of Blackfeather after Qlaek’s death. He seemed to be out for Nova’s blood for some reason. Qlaek and Ruress died in battle against something that hasn't been hunted down yet, this was tasked with Novriad after his training is completed.
Kaerid is Novriad’s brother, when first learning how to fly, he was flying too low to the ground when a wolf leaped up and bit his wing. Novriad panicked and stabbed the wolf, it ran off but Kaerid’s wing was destroyed from landing on rocks and the bite. Later learned the wolf bleed out, it was Novriads first kill.
Rekak is a childhood friend, he was a Mooncrest who didn’t pass his initiation trial, he hid in the mountains. Ruress found him and he joined the Blackfeather temple. He was never a fighter, more of a scholar. When Ruress and Qlaek died, he ran away, afraid Kraek might make him take the initiation into Blackfeather. 

Qlaek: Cleric | Ruress: Paladin | Kraek: Paladin | Rekak: Wizard

Class: Twilight Domain Cleric, once initiated into the order each member gets blessed with the gift of sight, for better hunting during the night, most are more combat focused but sometimes leaders of temples are granted more magical gifts, like his father. Infuriated by this, Kraek sends him to hunt the creature that killed his parents, then he will be able to have his parents' artifacts.
As a part of this trial for his parents' artifacts, he is required to wear heavy armor, to know the weight of the ground. Once he completes his task he may take the armor off.

Deity: The members of Night Haven believe the moon is the watcher that looks out into the night for things that might do harm. They believe the stars tell a story and everyone is guided by the stars.
