The humans spread like selfish vermin. Imperialists spreading and conquering land as if their entire existence depended upon it. They are the dominant species in this era, but they are a frightened and divided people. Easily corrupted and manipulated, as their short lives rob them the ability to become as wise as the races with a longer lifespan.
