The Brilliant Port
Portal 12
The oceans of the world is infested with undead creatures of all types. Thankfully, the Portals provide safe travel around the world, but there are places where sea travel is still needed. Pre-Portal records and tales hint that nations used to have their own navies. These days, however, the Gods provide what the nations won’t. Large temple arks crewed by devout of many of the gods provide sanctified vessels and blessed hulls that try to keep shorelines safe. These holy ships are fastooned with icongraphy of the various deities in almost a comical fashion. The cleric, invokers, and paladins onboard believe you need every bit of holy symbology in the deepest part of the oceans, and they are never wanting for one. The oldest of these temple arks have towers and spires that rival the main squares of small villages, and drive straight into Harrowings, hurricanes of necrotic energy that pose grave threats if they were to ever make landfall. But even the great temple arks need a port every now and then, and portal 12 ended up being near a small natural port that it only made sense to convert the area into the world’s naval supply. The Brilliant Port is a small almost lake bounded on one side by the shoreline and the other by a narrow curve of land. Extreme holy wards provide the inner bay with enough protection that the great temple arks and smaller craft can shelter in for repairs.Locations of Note within The Brilliant Port

Smelts of Heaven A blacksmith where a few members of the Dauntless ordered and purchased items from its owner, Akta Vardu. Ebony Pick A seedy bar that seemed to be the fallback/recruitment base for the Beholder followers. Council of Captains A Three Story building where leadership would gather in the port. The Dauntless met up with a “lieutenant” of sorts by the name of Eric Vaughner. An Elven man in full armor who provided the group protection crystals against Beholder Magic. In Port
