Typhon, the Annihilator and Father of Monsters
When the betrayer-titans began the Theagony (war of the gods), they combined their power and jointly created a super-deific being whose power was inimical to the saviour-titans known as Typhon. The end of the war came when the saviour-titans and lesser gods defeated and overthrew Typhon and shattered his essence across the face of the Earth. Despite their victory, these gods had to then withdraw to the Celestial Plane beyond the Aether to protect themselves.
Typhon is known as the Father of Monsters, because his presence corrupted creatures and mortal beings who came near him and gave rise to dragons, demons and savage races. Even after his destruction, his essence saturates the Earth and causes monstrous creatures and races to emerge during the periods of Perluxion, when magic returns to the Prime Material Plane, by corrupting the souls of deceased mortals which have not been given the proper funerary rites. These corrupted souls wander the plane, eventually fusing with that of an embryonic animal and give rise to savage races like orcs or half-human, half-bestial creatures.
Typhon's magical essence is the source of the arcane energy harnessed in its wild form by sorcerers and refined by wizards. This energy can be dangerous to those unskilled in its use, and has been known to bestow curses upon whole bloodlines.
Typhon is worshipped in one of his myriad forms by most monstrous races, such as orcs, knolls and ogres, demonic beings, and apocalyptic cults who seek to bring about the total destruction of the world. He is rarely the patron of Warlocks or venerated by spellcasters who value nothing by utter destructive power.
Appearance: As a creature of pure chaos and destruction, Typhon has a myriad of different appearances, all twisted and monstrous, from hundred-handed, snake-footed giants to immense monsters made of wings, blades or tentacles, shifting and warping from one to the next.
Symbols: Typhon has no fixed symbol, but his followers are commonly represent themselves with a powerful, chimeric monster and manifest his marks with physical mutations like scales, claws or extra limbs.
Personality: Typhon is pure, chaotic, ravening destruction, who attempts to attack and destroy constantly.
