The Eosphorian Ocean/The Isles of Olbien

The Eosphorian Ocean is the large body of water on the eastern side of Casiphon, containing the mysterious Isles of Olbien. Since a powerful wind blows almost constantly from the south-east, the Eosphorian Ocean is completely unexplored by ships leaving from Casiphon's eastern coasts.   It is believed that the Eosphorian Ocean was once dominated by Bithnaia, another much larger continent, but this entire immense landmass sunk beneath the waves during the Great Sundering in the Third Age, leaving only the Isles of Olbien behind. The elves of Aneromythia are said to be partly descended from the elves who escaped the destruction of Bithnaia, as well as the exile elves from Casiphon, especially from the lost realm of Zmyrnaleia.   The sub-surface protectorates of the Tritons inhabits a large area of shallow sea around the Isles of Olbien.  The Tritons, a race who claim descent from the god Poseidon, have inherited the sunken cities and act as a bulwark against the Sahuagin and other evil marine creatures.
