Tan Moul
Tan Moul is a settlement built on the site of a famous ancient bridge over the Parraphthes River, the only crossing point on the river between Havar-Erek and the confluence of the Periol River. It was originally the easternmost settlement of the Erechine empire, before becoming an army-garrison under the Taorminite empire and now a semi-independent city in its own right. The Eliomandrine empire has a long-standing alliance with the Moulines to keep the town under their influence.
The city is the centre of a farming district based on irrigation from the Parraphthes river. It is also a point of trade for goods entering the Eliomandrine empire through the Gates of Gol.
The population is almost entirely human, mainly inland Rythi, with an admixture of coastal Rythi, Erechines and Eliomandrine Erul.
The climate is warm and wet enough to raise wheat in summer, though the rest of the year is colder and drier. In winter, occasional blizzards from the North sweep through the area, and the Parraphthes river is sometimes completely frozen over upstream of Tan Moul.
