Mithaeril

Mithi and Aerul are said to have been exiled, or fled of their own decision, from the Taorminite empire during the Perluxion of the Sixth Cycle. Mithi was a mighty veteran warrior, with dark skin and black hair, while Aerul was a young and powerful sorcerer with pale skin and light-coloured, almost white, hair. The reason for their exile was that Aerul had been accused of attempting immortality by immoral means.   They travelled across Casiphon through the Gates of Gol, escaping assassination attempts and discovered the Erul peoples, a group of horse-based nomads who lived in the unforgiving steppe on the eastern end of the continent.   Mithi and Aerul impressed this new people with their abilities and usurped the leadership of their rulers, hereditary monarchs known as Khahens. Over the next two hundred years, the pair ruled over the Erul people and greatly expanded their power and influence. They also continued to pursue immortality, and once they had attained it, they sought to elevate themselves to godhood before the end of the Cycle, escaping the Prime Material Plane before magic once again disappeared.   Mithi and Aerul were fused by the process into one deific figure known as Mithaeril, who resides on a distant plane. Worship of Mithaeril in fire-temples replaced the veneration of the old gods, and the Erul people began to call themselves the Eholomithrin - the blessed of Mithaeril, mispronounced in the common language of the Taorminite people as 'Eliomandrine'.
