Mantua
Even by the standards of dwarves, Mantua is a backwater. Its inhabitants are numerous, for the most part uneducated and relatively impoverished. Though numerous mining and farming settlements dot the rolling hills, they produce few goods for trade and the Taorminite highway leading to Mantua is barely used. At the height of the empire, their main export was warriors to serve in the Taorminite army, bringing back money and tales of strange places. Many Mantuane dwarves now take their extensive military expertise abroad, serving as mercenaries in places as far away as Eyl-Thoul and the Nordirn Confederacy.
