Lake Sarol and Lake Luore

These two lakes once formed the boundary between the territory claimed by the Taorminites and the territory of a more powerful empire, the Erechine Rajir, which was destroyed by monstrous forces of chaos from the north during the Breaking of Nations.  Both became the playgrounds of the wealthy at the height of the Taorminite empire, having a pleasant summer climate, fine beaches, and opportunities for fishing, hunting and sailing.  They are surrounded by numerous smaller towns and some of the most excellent farmland of the entire area, producing especially good berries in summer.   Though the summers in the region are pleasant, the spring and autumn are cool and the winters are foggy, rainy and cold, giving the area's winter climate a rather dreary reputation.   Preith is a settlement of significant size, where the Taorminite army had a large border fort for many years.  It later became a significant local centre, due to its facilities and location on a major Taorminite highway.   Barar-Hol is an Erechine foundation which, like Preith, was for many years was a Taorminite border town before becoming a regional centre.
