Lake Gyon
Lake Gyon is a large area of water to the West of Gyarhame, varying from mostly fresh near the Fayenne river mouth to mostly salty near the Gyonmouth opening to the Emel Sea. It is smaller, more heavily settled and more easily policed that the Emel Sea, meaning piracy is fairly low, though occasional pirate nest operate out of the hostile, dinosaur-inhabited coast of Gyarhame. The Gyonmouth experiences very significant tidal currents, but the area is otherwise sheltered from storms and easy to navigate.
The coastal areas of Lake Gyon form the southern, less prosperous half of the Sundur Coast. The areas in it mostly produce foodstuffs and timber, and is home to the cities of Sefton, Tzaphir and Vadumar.
The Blue Archive, the arcane repository left over from the Third Age, is located in the middle of Lake Gyon a few miles off the coast of the central island (known as Little Gyarhame) at a depth of about fifty feet. It was partly explored by magical means during the last Perluxion by the Taorminite empire, but strife and warfare prevented a complete investigation.
