Jungles of Juol

The Jungles of Juol lie to the south of Priochtheira on the southernmost tip of western Casiphon.  The area is swept by perpetual rains, which slacken but do not stop during the dry season.  The low-lying country is entirely dominated by rainforest and swamp, the home to deadly tropical diseases, giant serpents and poisonous plants.  Ancient ruins dating back as long as the Second Cycle are found in many places, entirely overrun by jungle vines or half-submerged in black slims.   Numerous lizardfolk inhabit the shores of the lakes and rivers, tolerating natural dangers that spell death to outsiders.  A few lizardfolk on the coast trade their handicrafts, tropical hardwoods, exotic flora and fauna, and artifacts from lost civilisations, though most are completely unconcerned with the outside world.
