Gyarhame

Gyarhame is a large, sparsely inhabited area of dense and often impassable jungle. It is inhabited by small independent tribes of barbarous humans and lizardfolk, who try to avoid being eaten by the numerous dinosaurs that call the island home.    The area contains several swampy areas and no major mountains, except for the steep and gully-riven slopes of Mount Magth, which blocks easy access from Gyarhame to the rest of Casiphon. The area experiences significant rainfall, especially on the eastern coast, most of the year.   Natural wonder: the Amethyst Pool   To the South of Hilkreath, in an enormous crater, is a huge pool of clear water of distinct purple hue, with many areas of bright white sand at its base or sides, surrounded by steep cliffs of white sandstone. The centre of the pool is a series of enormously deep chasms of incredible depth, from which bubbles of putrid air sometimes boil forth. No plants or animals live in the water; it is said that drinking it will send a beast or mortal fatally mad, beset by sleeplessness and constant waking nightmares.   The Taorminite empire controlled the coastal areas of the region mainly to capture the inhabitant dinosaurs, who would be displayed and killed by gladiator-hunters in the arenas of the largest cities through the empire. There are few permanent settlements, as the native tribes live in various impermanent settlements throughout the island, often caves or sheltered valleys, and shift their homes with the seasons.   Major settlements:
