Erul Steppe
The Erul Steppe is a large area of open grassland at the north-eastern end of Casiphon, bounded by the Khaifau and Bezaphde mountains and the deserts of Eyl-Thoul. Due to a trick of geography, for most of the year a very warm wind sweeps from the open ocean north-west across Eyl-Thoul and into the Erul Steppe, creating a warm all-year grassland all the way up to the northern regions which would usually be frozen tundra.
The Erul people, the horse-nomads who make up the majority of the Eliomandrine empire's population, are the native inhabitants of the Erul Steppe. They are followers of the religion known as Mithaerilism, in which the worship of the demigod Mithaeril has replaced the traditional pantheon.
